Permanent Make-up Overview

What woman would not love to have fuller lips, symmetrically shaped eyes, or
gorgeously arched eyebrows without the time spent every day to achieve the right
look. With permanent make-up, all of these things and more can be possible.
Permanent make-up, also known as cosmetic tattooing, is a procedure in which
colored pigments are inserted beneath the first layer of skin using sterilized,
disposable needles. In the United States, permanent make-up procedures are closely
regulated. In fact, under some regulations, a cosmetology or esthetics license must
be obtained before a person can become a permanent make-up technician.

The eyebrows are one of the most popular of all the procedures. The technician will
use the brow line to create wonderfully arched eyebrows that can give the person a
more youthful appearance. Eyebrows created with permanent make-up are achieved with
a special blend of pigment colors that will give off a dimensional affect. Unlike the
traditional make-up eyebrow that is applied with a pencil, permanent make-up eyebrows
tend to emphasis the eye and have a more realistic look.

Permanent eyeliner is also very popular, especially with women who wear contact
lenses, are allergic to conventional make-up, or who may have hand tremors due to
certain diseases. The technician can create a variety of looks ranging from a soft
line to a more heavily applied dark line. It is all according to the clients wishes.

Lip procedures can, when done correctly, project numerous affects. Some people chose
to enhance upon lips that may already be well defined or to give thin lips a fuller
appearance. Clients who feel their lips may be too large can undergo a process that
will minimize the thickness of their lips. Lip color can also be added to camouflage
age lines. Woman sometimes go for a heavy, dramatic look or they may decide on
a more sedate, soft lip color.

There are various medical reasons people, men or women, might choose permanent
make-up. Women who have had to deal with breast reconstruction can once again have
the natural look and color of the areola, post surgery. Permanent make-up can also conceal
scars, whether they are from surgery or accidental. This is done by creating a nice, even skin tone.

The price of permanent make-up depends on which type of procedure is done. As
with any procedure, the client should do ample research before committing. The person
should be knowledgeable and aware of all the pros and cons involved with permanent
make-up. They should then be informed enough to decide whether permanent make-up is the
correct decision for them.
